Artist Talk: Yto Barrada
with Laura Rehme and Christina Végh
Sat, 25 March 23, 11:00
5 euros

The exhibition “Bad Color Combos” shows recent works by the French-Moroccan artist Yto Barrada (* 1971). In her multimedia works (installations, sculptures, films, photographs, and textile works), Barrada explores questions of cultural, political, and personal history and identity. Family histories, repressed traditions, feminist ecologies, and alternative strategies for acquiring knowledge are as embedded in her work as a fundamental critique of modernism. Moreover, the exhibition title refers to Barrada’s fundamental role of color as a material and as a medium in her work.
Experience Yto Barrada in conversation with our director Christina Végh and our curator Laura Rehme, who curated this exhibition.
