As part of the project, a bundle of important sheets from the graphic collection of Kunsthalle Bielefeld will be made accessible online for the first time; the works will be viewable on the website of the German Digital Library as well as on Museum Digital. Selected drawings, individual prints, series and portfolios from Ernst Barlach and Käthe Kollwitz to Max Beckmann, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Wassily Kandinsky to Peter August Böckstiegel and Hermann Stenner will be digitally processed and made available to a broad public. This will further open up an important focus of the Kunsthalle Bielefeld’s collection, German and Westphalian Expressionism, and make it widely visible for the first time.
The project is realized within the framework of the project “Targeted Digitization Support at Cultural Institutions from the German Digital Library Network”, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) in the NEUSTART KULTUR program.
